KOS Reflection

A quick reflection on our KOS session with constable Paul.

KOS Reflection Today at 11:30 am, a police officer (Constable Paul) came to Glenbrae school to teach all classes about Keeping ourselves safe and how different types of abuses can cause so much effect. First, we talked about how it is very important for people to not touch other genders genitals. Constable Paul also mentioned how we boys go swimming they wear shorts and when girls go swimming they wear a one piece or a two piece. He said it is very important that people respect others genitals and that they never have the right to touch it. Next, He read to us a story called “The Hedgehog”. This story was very sad because it had a lot of physical abuse and family violence. Then, We talked about the different types of abuse including, Cyber Abuse, Emotional Abuse, Neglect, Sexual Abuse, Family Violence and Physical Abuse. We mainly discussed Cyber abuse and family violence. About family violence, we learnt that New Zealand has the highest record and for Cyber abuse, we learnt that it’s all about trust. You can’t judge someone unless you really meet them or see their appearance. Having constable Paul with us was such a pleasure, I’ve enjoyed every moment within the hour and ½ we’ve had with him because in such small time, I’ve learnt so much and hopefully constable Jude will be back to visit us soon.
