Term 2 Holiday Home-Learning

Term 2 Holiday Home-Learning (Day 4)

Day 4
Maths-
  1. Dr Martin the chemist is weighing out some pills.
He has some 5g weights and some 7g weights.
Can he weigh exactly 38g of pills?
38 is not exactly divisible by 5 or 7. Hence both 5g
and 7g weights are needed. 38 – 7 = 31,
38 – 2 x 7 = 24, and 38 – 3 x 7 = 17 are not
divisible by 5. However, 38 – 4 x 7 = 10 = 2 x 5.
So Dr Martin can use four 7g weights and two 5g weights.
2. On Monday, Sam, Sonny and Sylvia share lollies that
they've been given. Sonny has been given twice
as many lollies as Sam, and Sylvia has three
times as many lollies as Sam plus two lollies.
They are given the same number of lollies each
day up to (and including) Friday.
Altogether, they are given 70 lollies.
How many lollies did Sam get on Monday?
  • 2 lollies?
Inquiry-

fused, leaving us with 23 pairs of chromosomes to apes 24.
The unpacking of the human and apes letter comparison
turned out to be 98.77% identical. (Theres more information

The Best Bear in All the World  (Chapter 1 - Autumn)
I read about Christopher Robin, Pooh, Piglet, Owl, Kang, Tiger, Eeyone and Rabbit,. This chapter was mainly about Pooh and the others going undercover to see if the fire breathing dragon was real or they were just seeing things in their dreams. Pooh and Piglet walked along a path together until they came across something shaped as a dragon...Pooh went to check it out while Piglet walked straight towards Owl’s house. At Owl’s house Piglet and Owl discussed that the fire breathing dragon is real, but not has been seen. While Piglet was with Owl, Pooh, Rabbit and Eeyone found something underground.

500 Awesome Facts (about everything / Part 3)
In this book, I read 74 time-warp facts about the oldest things on earth. I found it really interesting because happened millions and billions of years ago! It has lots of information that helps with Science + Genomics and many more subjects that relate to history or study. This book is very interesting and has so much facts about life and how it started! One face I found interesting is that 270 million years ago, almost all the land on earth was contained in one large mass called Pangaea. So yeah, It contains a lot of information which is quiet useful.

The Baby-sitters club (Kristy’s Great Idea)
Chapter 1 + 2- After Kristy got home and saw David sitting on the doorstep, he started crying and said “I lost my keys!”. Kristy giggled but David continued crying. Kristy told him everything was going to be okay but he harshly replied “No, everything is not, I need to go bathroom”. Kristy and Mary Anne laughed but David walked right through the door and headed straight towards the bathroom. While David was in the bathroom, Kristy mentioned to Mary Anne that Mrs Newton rang her and asked if she could babysit Jamie. Mary Anne and Kristy took David to the Brook. After taking him, Mary Anne and Kristy said their goodbyes and headed home. Before bed, Mum and Kristy had a chat about school and mum mentioned Watson a guy she had a date with. Kristy hated him and so...she didn’t babysit his kids but David and Jamie.

Term 2 Holiday Home learning

Today, I've decided to start on my home learning early which is quiet unusal but it was useful because I've been caught up with family lately, and I hardly have time to focus on my home learning / school work. So, Today I did day ones learning activities apart from the writing / recount. I didn't do the recount because my first day of the holidays was not as fun as school (lol). Here is what I've done as a start of my holiday home learning!
