Day 3 - Wednesday 11 September 2019
Rewa's Village / Kemp House / Stone Store / Treasure Hunt
On our third day at camp, we traveled to Rewa's Village. We didn't go into Rewa's Village all together, but we were split up into two groups and decided that G1 was going to visit Rewa's Village first and the other group to Kemp House and Stone Store. Firstly, G1 visited Rewa's Village.
In there, we had seen a lot of Patu, Shepards and many more weapons that represented each chief from every tribe. After that, we visited the outdoor houses that also represented the storage of food, animals and many many more. Then we walked around the area to look at the many different plant and trees. After 1 hour in Rewa's Village, we swapped activities and this time, G1 was in Kemp House and Stone Store and G2 were in Rewa's Village. In there, we saw more equipment used for war. Later on that day, after lunch, G1 and G2 went around the local area looking for codes for our Treasure Hunt.
After our daily activities were done, we visited Haruru falls. The view was nice and so was the sound of nature. We stood / sat there watching the water hit against the rocks with force. Out of nowhere a rainbow appeared. We stood there for a few good minutes before we loaded the bus and headed straight back to Orongo Bay.
When we got back to Orongo Bay, Group by group went swimming in the pool. First, Group 2 went., followed by Group 3 and finally Group 1. Group 2 needed to go frist because we were on kitchen duty, which meant COOKING!
After dinner we did our evening reflections and got ready for bed. 20 minutes later we were all gone from the common room into our cabins.
