Day 5 - Friday 13 September

Today was our last day at camp. We woke up super early, did our morning routine, cleaned out our cabins, loaded our gear into the bus and had breakfast. It was very quiet because mostly everyone weren't excited to go back home / school and see their families.

After breakfast, we all did our chores. When we were done, we all gathered outside the common room. Chris and Magnus announced the winners from the Treasure Hunt, and that group was group D. We had a few laughs and sad speeches by some students which almost made us cry. We said our farewells and goodbyes and boarded the bus.

A few minutes later we were on the road, We sang and danced along the way back to Auckland. Most of us were tired so we fell asleep. Hours passed by and we finally reached Auckland. We drove for a few more minutes, almost 1/2 an hour and we finally reached Glen Innes, Glenbrae School.

Once we got back to school, We were all thrilled to see our families. We didn't say hello to our family members  we didn't take our gear off, but we all had to gather around the front of the bus to preform a haka for Maiki (Our bus driver). After the haka we all did a hongi with Maiki then we all ran to our families. I got super emotional once I saw my mum, she gave me a warm hug and told me its okay, I'm back home. After taking our belonging's, we left school and went home!

I'm actually glad to be back home, but sad that camp is over and that's how camp was this year!
