Sadly it has come to an end 😭. Today was our last day of cooking tech with Mrs Heka. Today all the yr eight students at Glenbrae decided we should make burgers. We made the burgers while connecting, communicating, bonding and also helping each other. It has been a pleasure being with Mrs Heka🤗 for 14 - 15 weeks (I'm not sure). Thank you for being a great technology teacher for our first rotation this year, you have treated us well, thank you for also guiding us through step by step, and last but no least, that you for putting up with our boy's attitude. We had our fun times and also our cooking times. See you some time on Fridays! 🥰

Today for reading, We read an article about The last straw (should be included in my slide). We also answered a few questions regarding about the three main characters, Sarah, Vanessa and Mum, but mostly Sarah and mum. We also got asked one question while discussing what we've learnt with our teacher, and the question was "Who is the Victim". I thought really deep about the question and the only name I could come up with was Vanessa. She has been abused, and she was only 3 months old. Here is a slideshow about what we've learnt for Reading / Inquiry in room 7.

The computer game was first unveiled way back in 2009, with just 32 blocks and a whole lot of wool! Since then, the game has had a massive impact on the world. It has been used in classrooms around the world and even has its own movie. Minecraft is one of the most played games in the world, with around 91 million players using it every month! As part of their 10-year anniversary, Minecraft has released a special anniversary map. It is full of Easter eggs and secrets for players.

Today for Kiwican, We had Mrs Piho, One of our Kiwican leaders. First, as always, We got welcomed in to the Kiwican room. After our little welcoming speech by Mrs Piho, We had a little game called 'Dog's tail'. This game wasn't that fun like our usual games, but yeah, I participated. A few minutes later, we talked about our new topic 'Responsibility'. We talked about people, places and things we are responsible for. Later on we played another game called 'Paper ball'. The aim of this game was to be responsible for the ball, the piece of paper and also our team-mates. Last but not least, we played GKQ (General Knowledge quiz) and it was pretty cool because I passed 11 students from room 7 and unfortunately I wasn't master. Everything at Kiwicam was really fun apart from our first game, but yeah. It was a game!

He’s been the dream.” The pair also confirmed they will introduce the Queen to her eighth great-grandchild very soon. During the occasion, Archie lay silently. He wore a white knitted cap and was swaddled in a blanket. Archie, who is seventh in line to the throne, was delivered at 5:26 BST on Monday. Here is a photo of Archie, the new royal baby. (CUTE X)

Cyclone Fani has torn through India’s eastern coast as a grade 5 storm. Winds gusting up to 205km/h have wreaked havoc. The India Meteorological Department said the “extremely severe” cyclone in the Bay of Bengal was one of the worst on record. Officials have now started to assess the impact of one of the worst cyclones to hit the region in decades. Fortunately, authorities had managed to evacuate around 1.2 million prior to the storm hitting India. This Storm has also taken away 33 lovely lives and in sea, there has been no life lost reported after Cyclone Fani. I just hope that this pathetic cyclone stops anytime soon, and I also hope that India is doing fine and also fighting through this storm. Here are a few pictures showing how much damage Cyclone Fani has caused to the beautiful country India!!

Term 2 Week 1 was a big success, Lot's of learning in such small amount of time. Learning about ANZAC day and WW1 was worth all the time we spent working and collecting data from different sources. To start of the Term, I decided to work on Armistice day / Ending War. With the help of my classmates, Francesca, Candice and Viliami we all contributed and collected as much information as we could about this particular day. Here is a Google Drawing we made with facts we found out about Armistice day and a little bit about WW1.

In term 2, for Te Reo Maori, Rm 7 decided to do word phrases on 4 random images. For these 4 in particular random images, we had to chain link 2 or more ideas onto it. On these images including Oranges, Egg Sandwich, Tonga, and the shooting in Christchurch are some of my chain linking ideas. Here is a Google Draw I made with Maori and English words I had found on the internet (AKA Maori Dictionary).
